Antarctica is not an easy place to visit. It is remote, expensive and there are limited opportunities for people to spend time there. Many have it on their wish-list but relatively few of us will experience this stunning part of the world.

There is another way to see the white continent in relative comfort. With the help of specialised headsets Perth filmmaker Briege Whitehead is taking visitors to the WA Maritime Museum on a 3D virtual reality adventure with The Antarctica Experience. It provides audiences with an immersive experience, allowing them to to witness the beauty of the glaciers and get close up with the residents of a penguin colony.

Briege said she had a long lasting fascination with Antarctica.
